Our meals are provided by Hutchison Catering who are an independent family-run business delivering a refreshingly different range of catering services. The meals are all freshly cooked daily using local suppliers.
Eating a healthy diet enables a child to live life to the full and gives them a better performance all round, specifically helping with their concentration levels – which in turn affects achievement. Whilst we encourage the children to try new things, we also accommodate their likes and dislikes when possible.
Children may bring a packed lunch each day.
The majority of children have school lunches and children in Key Stage 1 (Reception, Years 1 and 2) are entitled to a free school meal. For Key Stage 2 pupils (Years 3, 4, 5 and 6) the price is £2.40 per child per day.
We are pleased to be able to offer a Preschool Nursery Lunch Club for those children who would like to stay. It runs from 12:00 midday to 12.30pm every day. There is a supervision cost for this £1.50 Preschool pupils may also order a freshly cooked meal, served in the school hall, costing £2.40.
It will be necessary to inform the class teacher each morning if your child is staying for lunch, so that they can notify the office of exact numbers. Please ensure that payment is made promptly each week via ParentPay.
In our primary school our meals;
- have a three-menu cycle, allowing children to become familiar with the food served;
- are changed every term to reflect the seasons; and
- are written in consultation with pupils and cooks.
We are now able to offer four choices per day – a meat-based meal, a vegetarian option, a jacket potato, or a packed lunch option along with sides and a pudding/fresh fruit/yogurt. The meals are balanced and are excellent value for money.
Children may choose any of the above options on a daily basis.
