Acorn Class (Key Stage 1) - Homepage

We are constantly seeking to develop the early years ‘choosing’ provision. We are striving to provide enough challenges for the children and present them with meaningful opportunities for them to practice their reading, writing and number skills.

Summer Blessings from Revd Reid and St Hilda’s Church

Summer Blessings to all our children and families at St Hilda’s School.  I hope you have a great summer – lots of fun and play. We have had a great year and you’ve all worked really hard.  Your work on worship has been amazing and I have loved
coming into school each week.  It’s super seeing some of you at Youth Church and at the monthly Family Service.  The next Family Service is Sunday 4th August at 11am at St Hilda’s Church. Our prayers especially for Fiona, Ella, Felix, Ben, and Bradley as they prepare to start a new school and our prayers for the new children preparing to join St Hilda’s in September.

The Lord bless you all.

Wednesday 17th July - Robin Hoods Bay

On Wednesday 17th July both schools will be going to Robin Hoods Bay for the day. We will be working with staff from North York Moors National Park and taking part in workshops looking at seashore habitats, conservation of the coastline and creating some beach art.

Pupils do not need to wear school uniform on the day but should be appropriately dressed for a day at the beach. Wellie boots would be great or an old pair of trainers that don’t matter if they get wet would be ideal.

Wednesday 10th July - Getting Creative!

As part of DT this half term, Year 1 and 2 have been exploring dips and dippers. We taste tested guacamole, raita, salsa and a beetroot dip. The children then had a go at making the guacamole and the raita. These are some pictures of the children in action.

Last week we had a go at designing our our dips with some very interesting ideas. This week we selected 3 dips to make; tuna mayo, fruit and yogurt, and a veggie fruity mayo dip. These are the children in action.  Please click here to view the photographs.

Yazi will work with us for a day of Creative Dance, making chapatis, snack tasting, Arabic writing and dressing up. This exciting day will further our work of supporting tolerance of those of different faith and beliefs.  Please do speak with Mr Pynn to learn more about the day.

Thursday 4th July - Y1/2 Tuck Shop

On Thursday 4th July, we will be learning about money and budgets.  For pupils to get a better understanding, we are planning on holding a small tuck shop on Thursday afternoon and are asking for them to bring in a max of 50p to spend at the tuck shop.

Monday 29th April - ParentPay

We are pleased to announce that from Monday 29th April we will be launching ParentPay in School.  ParentPay is a secure online payment system allowing you to pay for school meals, clubs and trips etc. from the comfort of your own home and removing the need to send cash and cheques into school.  If you have older children at Ryedale School you will already be familiar with the system and will be able to add younger children to the same account, making one payment to cover all children if you wish.

To make the transition to ParentPay as easy as possible, it is really important that all outstanding accounts are paid up to date by Friday 12th April so we can start ParentPay with a zero balance after Easter.  Mrs Cooper will send reminders to anyone owing money and we would appreciate if this is paid as soon as possible.

You should have also received a leaflet giving you more information, but please see Mrs Cooper or Mrs Leggett if you have any more questions. Account activation letters will be sent home after Easter.
