Early Years Teacher 0.7 FTE from January 2018 (Closing date - Wed. 22nd Nov. 2017)

Situated in the rural village of Ampleforth, with large grounds and purpose built play areas our growing school is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Early Years professional (Nursery & Reception) to come and join our team. As part of the Hovingham and St Hilda’s Federation and more widely the Esk Valley Teaching Alliance we can offer a strong commitment to supporting your further professional development. Please visit our school websites to get a flavour of who we are, and visits to school are always encouraged.

Due to our growing pupil numbers we need to split the teaching of our Early Years and KS1 Class and are looking for someone to teach in our Early Years Class (Age 3-5) which is open 5 mornings per week, and also provide some PPA/SENCO cover across the rest of the school, as well as attending staff meetings on a Tuesday after school.  This role will probably suit someone looking for their next step.

We are looking for someone who;

  • Is an experienced class teacher with a proven track record of good practice
  • Is professionally independent and can use their initiative
  • Able to implement differing strategies according to each child’s needs.
  • Is resilient to the challenges of working in a small rural school
  • Can work effectively as part of a team
  • Can inspire children and promote their well-being
  • Has excellent subject knowledge and the ability to use a wide range of strategies to challenge and assess children's progress
  • Has the ability to engage positively with parents and the community and be able to promote the Christian beliefs and ethos of our Church of England school

This post is initially offered on a fixed term basis until 31.08.2018 but will be reviewed prior to this date.  Previous applicants need not apply.
