We would like to invite those with children who will be starting nursery or school in either 2018 or 2019 to attend our Open Day on Monday 20th November.  This will be a chance for you to see what we do, as the school will be at work as usual.  To aid organisation it would be good if you could contact the office and arrange a time slot.  This will ensure that you have a personal guided tour and any questions can be answered.  Please feel free to bring the potential new starter with you!  If this date is not convenient please do contact school to make an alternative appointment.  Do please share this invitation with those you know may be considering our school.

Thursday 9th November - Maths Workshop for Parents/Carers

Mrs Martindale will be holding a Maths Workshop for parents on Thursday 9th November from 4-5pm at Hovingham School. By the end of the workshop, parents/carers will hopefully have an understanding of key mathematical terms, expectations for each year group and to give parents the opportunity to look at KS1and KS2 SATs problems so they can see what their children will be facing in May.

"Thought last evening’s workshop was excellent Carla - many thanks for all the effort you put into it."

"Mrs Martindale's maths class yesterday was excellent."

"My thanks too for the brilliant maths workshop last week. It was excellent, please pass feedback onto Mrs Martindale. She made it all very clear, it was hugely helpful, fun and very much appreciated."

The activities will all take part in the village hall using age appropriate safe/soft equipment.  The children will all get to have a go with the equipment and take part in some mini events.  We hope this will be a great opportunity for them to try something completely new and perhaps fire some ambition!
